Eighth-grade girls in the GEAR UP program at Worcester East Middle School participated in a financial literacy education conference sponsored by the Women’s Initiative of United Way of Central Massachusetts. The two-day, Dollar Scholar event held in November at Assumption College taught networking, financial, smart money choice, budgeting and philanthropy skills through fun activities.
