Six current college students who are alumni of the North High School spoke with 250 juniors at their Worcester alma mater on May 24. Four of those panelists are graduates of MassEdCO’s GEAR UP program at NHS. Panel members are currently attending Stony Brook University, UMass Amherst and UMass Medical School. The GEAR UP alums said they felt it was important to give back to the community and share things that were both helpful to them when they were in high school and things they wish they had known while transitioning from high school to college. Their topics included high school preparation, tips for success in college, choosing a major and a career, organization tips, and time management.
