May 1, 2018 FREE Spring Forum on Social/Emotional Learning

What? Why? How?

Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 8:30 a.m. to noon

Social/Emotional Learning (SEL) has almost universal acceptance as a way to ensure that the whole child is a priority in the classroom. Momentum is building across the Commonwealth as teachers, administrators, and community-based staff strive to provide the most comprehensive foundation for the success of their students. Intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, as well as academic achievement, are critical to success. SEL gives support and direction to those goals.

Mandy Savitz-Romer, PhD, our keynote speaker and a senior lecturer in education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, is a nationally recognized expert on SEL and co-author of Ready, Willing and Able: A Developmental Approach to College Access and Success. Dr. Savitz-Romer will be joined by a panel of experts from school districts and community organizations across the state, both urban and suburban, who have extensive experience in implementing SEL. Time will be given to questions from the audience.

Target Audience:  Representatives from school districts, nonprofit organizations, state agencies, local and state elected officials. Seating is limited - register early.
