MassEdCO is very pleased that its MassEdO Fund was highlighted in the 2017 Greater Worcester Community Foundation Annual Report. The growth of this new agency fund at the Foundation will enable MassEdCO to create an endowment and pursue innovative and expanded services to needy populations across the state.
The story in the GWCF annual report is as follows:
Massachusetts Education and Career Opportunities (MassEdCO), provides college and career readiness and support services that enable disadvantaged individuals to envision and achieve better lives. Each year, MassEdCO provides its services free of charge to more than 14,000 clients, both youth and adults, statewide.
With its new agency fund at the Foundation, MassEdCO builds a nest egg for innovation and expansion. "MassEdCO is currently very much grant-driven," says CEO Pamela Boisvert. "By growing our own endowment, we can invest in new programming that goes beyond our grant-funded projects."Our fund with the Foundation makes our organization and the good work we do visible to the many donors who trust the Foundation as steward of their hard-earned dollars," continues Pamela, a former Foundation board member. "This fund plants a seed that will grow over the years through gifts from people who share our passion to help develop educated, capable citizens."
