New award honors community service

Longtime College Success Institute (CSI: Worcester) supporter and mentor Keith Pomeroy and North High senior Xhenifer Mele were among the featured speakers at the recent graduation ceremony for students from Worcester Public Schools who participated in the college access program funded by generous grants from United Way of Central Massachusetts, the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, Hanover Insurance
Group, and Unum.

Xhenifer is the first recipient of the Keith Pomeroy Community Service Award, named in honor of Mr. Pomeroy of Morgan Stanley who has been a mentor in the program for many years. He serves on the Board of Directors of MassEdCO, which administers the program for high school seniors. The ceremony was held on November 13 at Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester.
