MCAC day at South High in Worcester

South High Community School in Worcester recently held its annual Massachusetts College Application Celebration (MCAC), attended by 210 seniors. MCAC events help students apply to the colleges of their choice and receive immediate word of acceptance. Seniors who have not yet done so, can receive assistance in applying to a variety of institutions, be interviewed by college reps, and receive instant acceptance and financial aid offers just prior to a school assembly where all students who have college acceptances are celebrated with cheers, music and the ringing of cow bells similar to the fanfare given student athletes.

At South High, representatives were on hand from American International College, Assumption College, Worcester State University, Framingham State University, Fitchburg State University, Western New England University, and Quinsigamond Community College. Seniors filled out 515 applications, 170 on-the-spot acceptances were received and $380,003 scholarship funds were offered.

The event was organized by the MassEdCO advisors and other staff at South High.
