North High School in Worcester recently held its annual Massachusetts College Application Celebration (MCAC) as did other high schools in the Worcester area where MassEdCO provides educational advisors. MCAC events help students apply to the colleges of their choice and receive immediate word of acceptance. Seniors who have not yet done so, can receive assistance in applying to a variety of institutions, be interviewed by college reps, and receive instant acceptance and financial aid offers just prior to a school assembly where all students who have college acceptances are celebrated with cheers, music and the ringing of cow bells similar to the fanfare given student athletes. A variety of college representatives and military recruiters interviewed seniors. The events were organized by the MassEdCO advisors and other staff at each school.
