CSI: Worcester graduates 65 seniors

Sixty-five seniors from five Worcester high schools were honored recently when the college access program they've participated in over the last year held its graduation ceremony on November 13 at Hanover Insurance Group facilities in Worcester. MassEdCO's Collegiate Success Institute (CSI: Worcester) introduces participants to student life and academic programs at area colleges and to careers at local businesses through trips, activities and mentoring.

The students from Burncoat Senior, Doherty Memorial, and North and South high schools, as well as Claremont Academy, celebrated completion of the program and said farewell to their student mentors from Assumption College, Clark University, Anna Maria College, College of the Holy Cross, and Worcester State University and to their community mentors at Hanover Insurance Group, Prismic Pharmaceuticals, Morgan Stanley, Claro Advisors, Unum, and the Committee for Public Counsel Services of the Public Defender Agency of Massachusetts.

The ceremony included addresses by students and mentors and the awarding of scholarships and certificates.

Special thanks were given to United Way of Central Massachusetts, the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, Unum and Hanover Insurance Group, funders of CSI: Worcester, and to staff and administration of the Worcester Public Schools. Hanover Insurance also generously sponsored the graduation ceremony.
