Ten MassEdCO staff members helped introduce refugees to life in the States by volunteering at a "Welcome to America" Fair in Worcester on September 13. The MassEdCO folk assisted at six learning stations that provided helpful information to small groups of newcomers through a variety of activities and games. Approximately 65 student/ refugees from countries such as Iraq, Syria, Bhutan, Nepal, and Congo were in attendance. Sponsored by the Ascentria Care Alliance, the fair was part of the United Way's Day of Caring. " This is the second year MassEdCO has joined us for this event," said Debra Feraco, education department coordinator at Ascentria. "We hope they will join us again next year!"
