ETS sponsors very successful College Fair

The Educational Talent Search (ETS) program at South High Community School in Worcester sponsored a College Fair in September to which 560 juniors and seniors showed up.  Another 50 8th-grade Goddard Scholars from Sullivan Middle School in Worcester also attended.

The students browsed booths staffed by representatives from 60 colleges (including Harvard University), picking up literature and learning about the various academic programs and college activities offered at the institutions. ETS staff reported the students asked great questions and exhibited impressive manners and professionalism as they greeted college agents.

Twenty-eight of the representatives stayed for lunch with the ETS staff and answered questions about new programs at their schools; how they serve low-income, first-generation students; and how to better advise students to receive institution-based financial aid.
